Description

North Leith Burial Ground, located on Coburg Street in Edinburgh, dates back to the 17th century. It is a burial ground that flanks the Water of Leith. The boundary wall is made of stugged cream ashlar sandstone and features saddleback coping along with cast-iron railings facing Coburg Street. At the eastern end, there are two-leaf gates leading to ashlar steps. To the west and south, there is a modern iron fence. The burial ground contains many fine carved stones from the 17th and 18th centuries, including stones with scroll pediments, obelisks, and table monuments.
