Description

Hare Spring Head consists of seven square or rectangular buildings made of dressed stone, which are situated over original springs that date back to 1676. These buildings are arranged along separate named pipelines that supply water to the Comiston Springs Waterhouse. The structures above the springs were built at different times due to maintenance and repairs, with the oldest likely originating in the late 17th century. The specific spring heads include Peewit Spring Head 1, Peewit Spring Head 2, Sandglass Spring Head, Hare Spring Head, Moubray (or Hare) Spring Head, Fox Spring Head 2, and Fox Spring Head 3.
