Description

West Breakwater, built around 1917, incorporates materials from around 1882. It extends into the River Forth and is flanked by rock armour made of boulders and concrete blocks on both sides. The eastern breakwater features a slightly angled tip. There is a raised roadway leading to the end of the western breakwater, supported by battered sandstone or concrete block retaining walls.
