Outbuildings And Stables, Tower House, 142 Liberton Drive, Edinburgh

The outbuildings and stables at Tower House, located at 142 Liberton Drive in Edinburgh, date from the later 18th century. This two-storey, three-bay farmhouse is designed in an L-shape and is situated to the south of Liberton Tower. It is constructed of random rubble with droved ashlar dressings, featuring purple slate roofing, ashlar coped skews, and rubble stacks with simple ashlar cornices.

On the southeast elevation, there is a central door that leads to a large modern timber and glazed porch. Flanking the door are windows on the ground floor, and there are three additional windows on the first floor, all with lying-pane glazing in renewed sashes. A large modern Velux window is present in the attic.

The northeast (rear) elevation includes a two-storey wing with a harled gable. At the rear, there are rubble outbuildings and stables. To the south, there are gatepiers topped with ball finials, which are adjacent to rubble, and a rubble coped garden wall that extends to the south.
