Description
St George's Well, located by the Water of Leith in Edinburgh, is a single storey and basement building that dates back to 1810. It is constructed from droved ashlar sandstone, with rustication at the basement level. There is a base course between the basement and the principal floor, as well as an eaves course.
The principal southeast elevation features a gabled front with a metal door centered on the principal floor. Above the door is a recessed, tooled gable roundel that reads '1810', along with a decorative finial and acroteria. The side elevations are blank, and the rear elevation is also blank and bowed.
The building is topped with a grey slate roof, which has coped skews and consoled skew putts. There is a shouldered wallhead stack that is coped and has a circular can.
