27 Blair Street, Edinburgh

29 Blair Street in Edinburgh is a four-storey building with a basement and a later attic, originally built in 1788 and later altered. It features 15 bays and was formerly used as stationery works, now converted into flats. The building is situated on a steeply-sloping site and is constructed of droved ashlar with rubble and droved dressings at the basement. It has raised cills, a ground floor band course, and a cill course at the second floor. The ground floor on the left has three round-arched openings accessed by over-sailing stairs. The later mansard roof is steeply pitched and includes dormers at each bay, except for the 13th bay.

The windows throughout are 12-pane timber sash and case, and the roof is covered with grey slate. The building features cast-iron rainwater goods and has cast-iron railings running the length of the property, with gated stairs leading down to the basement.

Inside, the structure has been reconstructed to accommodate residential development.
