Description
East Lodge at Ardmore House in Cardross is a single-storey and attic T-plan lodge dating from the 19th century. It features a canted end elevation facing the road and has advanced eaves with a white-painted harl finish.
The north (entrance) elevation consists of a single-storey, three-bay block with a modern wooden porch at the center and flanking windows. Square dormers are symmetrically arranged, and the windows have multi-paned casements.
The east (main) elevation has a canted wing with a steep hipped slate roof and oversailing eaves supported by timber piers, creating a covered area. This elevation includes three plate glass windows. To the left, there is a two-bay elevation of the rear wing with symmetrically arranged 12-pane top-hung windows.
The west elevation features a lean-to wooden shed. The lodge has modern windows, a grey slate roof with lead flashings, and corniced sandstone ridge stacks.
The interior was not seen in 1994. The property is complemented by cast-iron paddock railings, post gatepiers topped with circular ball finials, and decorative gates.
