Description

The Garden Bridge at Inveraray Castle, built around 1761 by John Adam, features an elliptical span constructed from ashlar stone. It has balustraded parapets and semi-circular recesses at each end, with oculi on the spandrels. The bridge is pierced by vaulted passages and includes classical doorways adorned with Roman Doric engaged columns, entablatures, and pediments, along with apsidal recesses within. The approach walls are complemented by square capped posts.
