Description
East Lodge at Camis Eskan House is a single-storey, three-bay cottage, likely designed by David Hamilton around 1840. The building features later additions at the rear and modern extensions to the left. It is finished with painted harl, accented by contrasting painted margins and dressings, and has a base course. The eaves are advanced and supported by paired brackets.
The main southwest elevation is symmetrically arranged with three bays. It includes a pilastered door topped by a gable that breaks the eaves, although the door itself is modern. Flanking the door are four-pane sash and case windows with painted trapezoid aprons. On the southeast elevation, there is a three-window bow. The cottage has four-pane timber sash and case windows and a slate roof with lead flashings.
The gates, gatepiers, and boundary walls feature square ashlar gatepiers at the center, adorned with guilloche panels, corniced caps, stepped caps, and acorn finials. The curved dwarf walls are complemented by decorative cast-iron railings, which are terminated by square ashlar piers that also have carved guilloche panels, bracketed moulded caps, and acorn finials near the drive.
