Description
The Manse at Bishop's Close in Brechin, built around 1850, is a plain neo-Jacobean structure made of ashlar stone. It is two stories high. The west elevation features a single-storey projection that includes an arched and panelled door, along with a long tripartite bay situated in the re-entrant angle of the right-hand projecting gable. There are two gabletted windows on the first floor, each adorned with finials and skewputts.
On the south elevation, there is a three-light bay on the left, with two ground floor and three first floor gabletted windows, all featuring finials. The east gable includes ground and first floor windows on the south side, along with a porch in the angle. The north gable has three windows, one on the ground floor and two on the first floor, as well as a projecting chimney stack. The roof is a straight skewed slate design, complete with diagonal shafted chimneys. Most of the original glazing remains intact, except for the ground floor bay. Additionally, there is a rubble garden wall with coping surrounding the property.
