Description
The bridge over the Ury Burn at Ury House dates from the mid-19th century, around 1855. It features a single span girder design supported by coursed and squared rubble abutments, with the western abutment curved. The bridge includes ashlar quoins, a band course, and a flat coping that likely once had inset railings. The structure is made of riveted ironwork, consisting of two main longitudinal beams with transverse beams and a timber deck that has been overlaid with later concrete. The parapets are designed with a diamond-pattern lattice, circular intersections, and vertical struts.
