Description

The ice house at Ury House dates from around 1800 and is located by the Ury Burn. It features a tunnel that leads to a domed underground chamber. The structure is made of brick and ashlar. The entrance has a semi-derelict ashlar doorway that has been damaged by a tree stump. Inside, there is a shallow vaulted passage with ashlar walls and a brick roof, which leads to an inner ashlar doorway and the chamber beyond.
