Description
Fingask House is a two-storey building constructed in 1834 for Thomas Elmslie, a woollen manufacturer. The house features three widely spaced windows and is harled with margins. The central bay projects slightly and is topped with a pediment, supported by a wooden Greek Ionic column porch. The tripartite doorway includes a fanlight and showcases excellent woodwork in the sidelights. A back wing was added in 1923, which involved the rebuilding of the original house, with a datestone from 1821 inset.
