Description
68 and 70 Castle Street in Banff is an early 19th-century house that has undergone significant restoration. It is a two-storey building with an attic and features an irregular three-bay layout. The central door is flanked by a pend entrance that leads to a rear courtyard and a cottage. The outer bays have small ground floor windows, while the first floor has a regular arrangement of windows, which are mainly plate glass timber sash and case glazing. There are also two modern box dormers. The house has coped end heightened stacks and a slate roof. At the rear, there is a single-storey former cottage (No 68) that projects at right angles as an extension to the main house. The rear courtyard is walled and incorporates the outer walls of former houses that were located within the rear court.
