Description
Berryhill is a building dating from around 1825 to 1826. It features a symmetrical front that is harled with granite margins. The central part of the building is a single-storey structure with an attic, which is accentuated by a four-column wooden portico of an unusual Roman Doric style. The lower two-thirds of the portico have two bands of reeding, while the upper third is plain. Behind the portico, an ashlar granite gable rises in a pedimental form, with one window and a canted dormer above on either side. The end blocks are two-storey structures, each with one window at the front and two windows along the sides. Quadrant walls connect to a two-storey block of offices at the back. Inside, the entrance hall features Roman Doric columns and some decorative plasterwork, while the rest of the interior is fairly plain.
