Description

The Old Churchyard in Cluny features four mortsafes, which are square, simple ashlar enclosures designed in a neo-Greek style. These may have been created by an architect named Simpson. Within the enclosure, there are a few old stones and an unusual terracotta monument. This monument, which dates to around 1897, is in the Early Italian Renaissance style and commemorates James Reid and his wife, Marie Claudine Nardin.
