Description

The stables, dating to circa 1815 and likely built by John Smith, are a plain classical design constructed of rubble stone with margins. They are a low, two-storey building with a symmetrical west front of five bays. The centre bay is taller, with a pediment above a semi-elliptical coachhouse arch, a consoled window above that, and a rounded pediment. The flanking bays each contain three windows. The stables have piended slate roofs. The group value of the stables is enhanced through their contribution to the wider Phesdo House landscape.
