Description
Adams Cottage is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay rectangular house located on the main road through the village of Marykirk. The listing excludes the single-storey outbuilding at the rear (east).
The entrance door, positioned to the left of the centre, features a moulded doorpiece adorned with three masonic symbols on the lintel. The house has a central nepus gable, which includes a wallhead gable with a chimneystack. The exterior is harled with painted margins, and the rear elevation has irregular openings. The windows consist of 12-pane glazing set in timber sash and case frames. The roof is pitched, covered with grey slates, and has straight skews with moulded skewputts. The end and central chimney stacks have been replaced with brick, and the central stack showcases polychromatic brickwork.
The interior, as observed in 2015, has undergone alterations. It includes some panelled window shutters and panelled timber doors.
