Description

This burial ground and mort house, dating to 1830, is located on Manse Lane in Hatton of Fintray. The mort house is partly subterranean and constructed of granite, featuring a vaulted interior and an iron door. The lintel bears the date 1830. The structure was built as a protective measure against body snatching, a practice known as resurrectionism.
