Description
The Gentlemen's Public Toilets, located in Union Terrace Gardens, Aberdeen, were designed by A. Marshall Mackenzie of Matthews & Mackenzie and built between 1877 and 1878. The terrace was later widened over the arcades by William Boulton, Civil Engineer, in 1891. The building features a semi-elliptically arched arcade that supports the footpath of Union Terrace above, which is adorned with a balustrade. Additionally, the arch of Dow Brig, originally constructed by John Jeans in 1747, has been incorporated into the design.
