Description

Perth Bridge is a road bridge built between 1766 and 1771 by John Smeaton, with widening work completed by A D Stewart in 1869. The bridge features seven round arches spanning the River Tay, with two smaller round arches at each end. It is constructed from pink Perth sandstone ashlar and includes circular black stone oculi in the spandrels. The bridge has low, triangular cutwaters.

Additional features include cantilevered pedestrian footpaths supported by cast-iron brackets and decorative parapets that incorporate slender lamp standards.
