Description
The building was an agricultural structure located to the southwest of Curley House at 18 Curley Road, Newry, County Down. It was originally thatched and had rendered rubble stone walls, as depicted in a 1973 survey slide from the Historic Monuments and Marine Policy Branch (HMMB). However, the original structure has since been demolished and replaced with a circular reinforced concrete building on the same site. This replacement building, set to the southwest of Curley House (reference HB16/14/052), features a roof structure of modern sawn timbers and is supported centrally by a cast-iron post with a circular trough at its base. The original building is considered to have been much altered, or possibly entirely rebuilt, and possesses little architectural interest. It was formerly used as outbuildings.
