This is a three-room, single-story vernacular dwelling likely built before 1834. It is situated on the southwestern side of the southern end of King Street, on the slope of the Mourne Mountains, south of Newcastle town center. The building was derelict at the time of recording.

The front (northeast) façade displays a centrally positioned timber-sheeted door, with a single six-over-three pane sash window to the left and two to the right. All windows are of a Georgian design. The façade is finished with rough-cast rendering, and the gabled roof is largely covered with corrugated iron. A rendered chimney stack is located to the right of the center. A low rubble retaining wall fronts the property, with stone steps leading to a path toward the doorway. The other facades are reported to have no openings visible from the interior.

A house is indicated on Ordnance Survey maps from both 1834 and 1859 at this location. The property was assessed as being of a low rateable value during the first valuation survey of 1834, which was not uncommon for dwellings of this size. Local residents report that the property was abandoned around 1996. Supporting documentation includes valuation and Ordnance Survey records held at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) and directories from the 19th century.
