Drumnagreagh Hotel, 408 Coast Road, Drumnagreagh, Larne, Co Antrim

The Drumnagreagh Hotel is a late Victorian house built around 1880 for George McFerran, appearing on the Ordnance Survey map of 1903. Originally a country house, it was subsequently modernised and extended to become a hotel, although it is now no longer considered of special architectural or historic interest and was delisted on 9 June 1987.

The two-storey house has roughcast exterior walls and a hipped slate roof, with modillions to the eaves cornice. A platband runs along the first floor level, and the corners have plain dressings. The windows are plain sash windows within square, moulded architraves. There are square projecting bays on three sides, containing paired windows, with a segmental arched upper opening facing the sea. A square projecting porch contains the modern entrance door, with plain pilasters rising to an entablature and blocking course. An extension was added to the west.

The building occupies a remote location in a rural area, situated on an elevated site above the Coast Road, offering distant views of the sea.
