Description

Rock Cottage, located off Middle Road in the townland of Ballymuldrogh, Islandmagee, Larne, Co Antrim, was a vernacular thatched house built between 1820 and 1839. It appears on an Ordnance Survey map of 1832. The building was a one-and-a-half storey cottage with harled walls and a thatched roof. Its windows retained full glazing bars or had horizontal divisions. A wooden porch was considered detrimental to the building’s appearance. Rock Cottage was demolished in 1997 and now exists as a pile of rubble on the site. It was delisted on April 28, 2000.
