Description

The record pertains to 12 and 13 Purdysburn Village and the Purdysburn Gospel Hall in Ballycowan, Belfast, County Down. Originally shown as four separate dwellings, 12 and 13 Purdysburn Village were converted to two dwellings in the late twentieth century, resulting in the loss of their internal layout and detailing. Externally, these buildings retain their original cast iron diamond-paned windows. The buildings were surveyed during the First Survey but not listed, and a partial record was taken during the Second Survey; it was determined that they were not of sufficient interest to warrant a full survey, nor do they possess the same architectural interest as other listed dwellings in the village. The Purdysburn Gospel Hall is a single-storey corrugated hall with both walls and a pitched roof, situated at the end of Purdysburn Village. The buildings have not been listed, and there is no associated architectural or historical interest.
