This fountain, constructed between 1920 and 1939, is one of a group of well-maintained, similar fountains in Beragh, County Tyrone, serving as a reminder of a time when drinking water was primarily accessible from public locations. The fountain features a plain, shaped, fluted column, a lion’s mouth spout, and an acorn finial. The column is inscribed with the name "Glenfield & Kennedy Ld, Kilmarnock". It occupies a prominent roadside location, contributing to its setting and group value with other local features. While several pumps are shown on Ordnance Survey maps from 1906 and 1937, this specific location was not marked, suggesting the fountain was installed after 1936. The fountain is considered to be of industrial archaeological interest and possesses local historical significance, demonstrating social and cultural importance. It is owned and maintained by the local government.
