Footbridge over Drumragh River, to west of Blackfort Road, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, BT78 1PT

A four-span footbridge, built around 1900, crosses the Drumragh River to the west of Blackfort Road, near Omagh. This simple bridge has a single continuous beam supported by piers and abutments constructed from coursed, squared rockfaced stone. It incorporates V-shaped cutwaters, with concrete repairs to that on the north side. The carriageway is of steel with a cemented surface, supported by steel columns and featuring a wire mesh parapet. Access to the bridge is provided by stone steps located on both the north and south sides. The bridge is situated in a rural setting, flanked by agricultural land, with a path leading from the road to the west.

Historical records indicate that a ford existed at this location, as shown on the first edition Ordnance Survey map from 1833. Subsequent maps show stepping stones and the nearby Londonderry & Enniskillen Railway. A bridge first appeared on the 1854 edition of the map, though the ford continued to be marked on later editions. The current structure appears to be of a relatively modern date.
