Description

Detached rendered four-bay two-storey house, built c.1863, restored and extended c.1987. L-shaped on plan facing south and located on the east side of Moneydig Road on an elevated site with a range of outbuildings to a rear yard. Pitched natural slate roof with roll-moulded terracotta ridge tiles, two rendered chimneystacks with terracotta pots to either gable end and overhanging timber sheeted eaves and bargeboards. Replacement cast-iron rainwater goods. Square-headed window openings with painted concrete sills and replacement 6/6 timber sash windows. Asymmetrical front elevation is four windows wide with an off-centre elliptical-headed door opening having a replacement elliptical-headed tripartite timber doorcase complete with webbed fanlight and sidelights and a replacement decorative moulded surround. Front door opens onto concrete platform and step to front gravel path and front lawn. West gable has a single window to each floor. Rear elevation abutted by a gable-ended two-storey return, built c.1987. East gable is abutted by a lean-to conservatory, erected c.2000. Setting: Located on an elevated site to the east of Moneydig Road enclosed to the road by a native hedgerow and accessed via replacement gates on replacement stone piers to the north end of the rear yard. The west side of the yard is enclosed by a range of single-storey rendered outbuildings with corrugated iron roof. To the north end at the vehicular entrance is a two-storey rubblestone outbuilding. Former entrance to the south of the property via pair of wrought-iron gates on rendered piers and curved walls.
