This is a small, single-storey terraced house located roughly in the centre of the west side of William Street, in the northwest corner of Newtownards. The house likely dates to around 1840. It has been significantly extended to the rear and now has a completely modern interior.

The front, east-facing facade features a timber-panelled front door positioned to the right of centre, with a plain stone surround. There are two modern windows to the left of the door and one to the right. The front facade is rendered. The rear elevation is largely dominated by a poorly designed addition with modern windows, a door, a corrugated PVC roof, and concrete brickwork. A small section of the original rear wall remains visible on the extreme right-hand side, rendered and containing a single sash window. The front half of the roof is covered in pan tiles, while the rear retains its original ‘Tullycavey’ slates. Cast iron rainwater goods are present at the front, while the rear extension has PVC rainwater goods.

A building is depicted on Ordnance Survey maps from around 1860, but not on maps from 1834, providing evidence for a construction date around 1840. Primary source documentation includes Ordnance Survey maps from 1834 and 1860, as well as valuation records from around 1835 and 1863, all held at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI). The building is of vernacular character.
