Description

Seapark was a single and two-storey house located at 1 Seapark Road, Holywood, Co Down. The property has since been demolished, and a residential development now occupies the site. The north front of the house was composed of six bays. Bay 1 featured a single-storey gabled end to a garage and store, incorporating decorative bargeboards and a crenellated chimney breast. Bay 2 had a single-storey crenellated parapet, and two recent casement windows with a moulded architrave. Bay 3 featured two-storey rafter ends at the eaves, raised quoins, a gabled dormer window with a pointed arch head, horizontal astragal moulding, pilaster jambs and curved brackets with moulded bargeboards. It also contained two ground-floor windows, one recent and one double-hung with horizontal astragal moulding, and a moulded architrave. Bay 4 had a two-storey crenellated parapet with vase pinnacles, raised quoins, and floor-to-floor and ground-floor windows, all double-hung with horizontal astragal moulding and a moulded architrave. To the left-hand side of the projecting face was a doorway with panelled pilasters, decorative brackets below a corniced hood, a plain fanlight, and a panelled door. Bay 5 featured a two-storey projecting gable with decorative bargeboards, a pinnacle, and raised quoins. Two first-floor double-hung windows with horizontal astragal moulding, a five-centred arch head, and a moulded architrave were present, alongside a single-storey oriel window below with a blocking course, an eaves cornice and frieze, double-hung windows with horizontal astragal moulding and a moulded architrave. Bay 6 displayed a backset end to a recent single-storey extension, a crenellated parapet, and raised quoins. The condition of the house was fair, and the north front measured approximately 88 feet. A wooden slab inscribed “David Boyd Nov. 1875” was present. A partial survey was conducted on 29/3/73.
