This is a two-storey, three-bay terraced shop with a house, likely built in the early to mid-19th century. The building is located on High Street, Newtownards, and has undergone significant alterations, particularly to the ground floor, with a modern shop front and interior. Despite this, it retains its original form, a carriage arch, and the upper floor appearance, albeit with modern windows, contributing significantly to the streetscape.

The front facade (north elevation) features a large modern shop front to the left, incorporating a picture window, ATM, PVC signage, and a glazed entrance door. To the right of the shop front is an elliptical arch-headed carriage entrance with timber double doors. The first floor has three windows, fitted with modern top-hung frames designed to resemble sash windows with Georgian panes. The facade is covered in lined painted render. The roof is partially covered with Bangor blue slates, and there are no chimney stacks.

The site has been occupied since at least 1720, as shown on Colvill's plan. Until recently, the building presented an early to mid-19th century appearance with a central doorway, a traditional shop front, and overall characteristics of the period, but it was modernized, likely around 1990. The building does not have rear access. Historical records, including Colville’s plan of 1720, Ordnance Survey Memoirs, and valuation records from approximately 1836 demonstrate the long-standing presence of buildings on this site.
