Description
The Addams Monument is a chest tomb located about 9 meters north of the nave of the Church of the Holy Trinity in South Cadbury. It dates from the 17th century and is made of Doulting stone. The base is buried, featuring plain slab ends and flanks, along with a scrollwork frieze. The heavy hipped top has cavetto mould coving and buttressed leading edges. This monument commemorates Richard Addams, who died in 1635, and his wife Mary, who died in 1661. The Addams family were lords of the manor from the early 16th century until the late 19th century.
