Description

The churchyard cross, located 5 metres south of the south transept of the Church of St Mary, dates back to the 15th century and was significantly restored in 1923. It is made of Ham stone and features three large octagonal steps with moulded nosings, leading up to a square base adorned with diamond panels that display emblems of the four evangelists. The base measures 800 millimetres high and 1.2 metres wide. At the corners, there are caps and shafts with restored figure sculptures. The shaft and top, which depict the Virgin and Child under a canopy, appear to be from the 20th century.
