Description
Jurston Farmhouse is a two-storey building constructed of red brick, facing south. It features a thatched roof that sweeps up over the first-floor windows. The front of the farmhouse was refronted in the 19th century, but it is believed to have much earlier origins, possibly dating back to the late medieval period. The left gable end of the building retains an ancient dressed stone chimney stack with set offs, while the top of the chimney has been renewed in red brick. There is also an old stack on the right gable end. The front of the farmhouse includes three windows, which are two-light wood casements with segmental relieving arches above the ground floor windows. A solid brick porch with a segmental head provides entry, and it has a pantile roof. At the rear, there are gabled ranges that also feature thatched roofs, with one range displaying brick and stud walling and a three-light wood mullioned window.
