Description
7, 8, and 9 West Quay is a warehouse that has been converted into dwellings, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of Flemish-bond brick, with the left side painted, and features stepped stone voussoirs. The building has a pantile roof with brick stacks on either side of the central block. It has a rectangular plan, with five storeys in the central block and four storeys in the side blocks, creating a symmetrical five-window range.
Each side range contains one window per floor, featuring flat arches and stepped stone voussoirs. The left side has a 20th-century two-light casement window on the third floor, a 4/8-pane sash on the second floor, an 8/8-pane sash on the first floor, and a six-panel door with radiating glazing bars topped by a semicircular fanlight under an open pediment, next to a 20th-century shop front. The right side has 20th-century windows and a shop front. The central range includes 20th-century wooden infill with two-light casement windows, flanked by narrow brick ranges with stone-keyed segmental arches leading to 20th-century two-light casement windows on the upper floors and 20th-century shops below. The interiors have not been inspected.
