Description
No. 45, The Limes, is a house dating to circa 1700, with an 19th-century wing added to its south end. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with freestone detailing, and has a pantile roof. It is two storeys in height, originally with a two-window front, featuring single sash windows and windows in pairs, separated by stone flat mullions with edge rolls. A late 19th-century stone porch, with an elliptical arched door opening dated 1897, was added, along with stone mullioned and transomed windows, a cornice, and a parapet. The south-facing elevation incorporates a slate roof with wide eaves carried around a two-storey semi-circular bow, which features a stone mullioned window with Gothic glazing. The building is situated within a group of similar properties and is appreciated for its contribution to the area.
