Description

This is a farmhouse, now a house with a section undergoing conversion to a village hall. The building dates primarily to the early 19th century, with a significant older section from the 15th or 16th century.

The left-hand portion of the farmhouse is rendered with a slate roof and coped verges. It features ashlar and concrete block stacks and a Tudor style, with two storeys and three bays. The windows are stone-mullioned, with two and three lights, and stopped labels. Each light has a casement with glazing bars. The central doorway has a dressed stone surround with a stopped label and a 6-panelled door, the top two panels glazed. A Gothick gabled wooden porch with a slate roof sits above an ashlar base, featuring a pointed arch outer door opening and traceried side panels.

The right-hand section is of lower height, constructed of coursed rubble, with a double Roman tile roof. It has five bays, with one and two-light casements featuring glazing bars and wooden lintels. Three door openings are present: to the right, paired plank doors; to the centre, a half-glazed door with a mono-pitched double-Roman tiled hood; and to the left, a panelled door. A rear door opening has a shouldered wooden architrave and a plank door.

The interior incorporates re-used 17th and 18th century panelling.
