Description
Whashton Bridge over Hartforth Beck is a packhorse-type bridge, likely built in the 18th century and early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of rubble and has been widened on the upstream side. The bridge features a single segmental arch. On the downstream side, the arch and soffit are made of rubble voussoirs, while the upstream side has an arch and soffit of dressed stone. The coping on the downstream side consists of segmental coping, while the upstream side has coping made of roughly dressed stones set on edge.
