Description

Middlewood House is a late 18th-century farmhouse, with 19th-century additions and alterations. It is constructed of orange and mottled pink brick in an English garden wall bond, with a Welsh slate roof and pantiles at the front. The house has two storeys and four first-floor windows. The left bay was added later. The original right portion features two glazed doors with an overlight within a wooden architrave, and four-pane sash windows in flush wood architraves, all under cambered brick arches. The added left bay includes one window, matching those on the right, on each floor. A dentilled eaves band runs along the top. Chimneys are located at the left end and the centre of the ridge of the right portion. The rear of the left portion has a first-floor door on the left, a side-sliding sash window, and a 16-pane sash window. The right bay projects and has a side-sliding sash window on the ground floor.
