Description

Scotton Lodge is an early 19th-century house situated on the north side of Mire Sike Road in Scotton. The front of the house is constructed of coursed squared gritstone, while the sides are of coursed rubble. It has a slate roof. The house is symmetrical, with a two-storey, three-bay facade by two bays deep. A plinth runs along the base. The central entrance has a 20th-century half-glazed door with overlight, set within a moulded wooden surround and cornice. The windows are recessed sash windows with glazing bars, each with projecting sills and incised wedge lintels. The roof is hipped with a shallow pitch, punctuated by tall, four-flue banded lateral stacks. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
