Description

Jervaulx Hall is a house, now operating as a hotel, dating to the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical facade of 1:1:2:1:1 window bays. The windows are largely 20th-century casements. The central two bays are recessed, featuring a lead-roofed loggia above medieval tile paving, with a part-glazed entrance door. Flanking bays have canted bay windows on the ground floor, and Dutch gables with copings and ball finials. A coped gable with ball finials is present at the left-hand end. Chimney stacks are situated between bays 1 and 2, bays 2 and 3, and bays 4 and 5.
