Description

The building at 23 Baxtergate is an 18th-century property, likely dating to the third quarter of the 18th century. It is three storeys high and constructed of ashlar. The facade features four double-hung sash windows on each floor, with moulded architraves. The ground and first floor windows have aprons. A dentilled cornice runs along the top of the building, above which is a parapet. The doorway is distinguished by Doric columns supporting an open-pediment, with a triglyph frieze above. A rectangular fanlight is situated above the doorway, which itself has a six-fielded door set within an architrave.
