Description

The Devonshire Hotel is an 18th-century building of group value. Constructed of ashlar to the front, with stone rubble sides and a painted rear, it has a hipped roof. The building is three storeys high with a five-window front. A massive eaves cornice runs along the top. The central three bays feature a central doorway leading up three steps, with a moulded architrave and pediment. There are two windows on the ground floor and three on each upper floor, all set within a forward break topped by a pediment. A single window flanks either side of this central break. Internally, the hotel retains panelled window shutters, a staircase dating from the first half of the 18th century, and original doors.
