Description
This is a mid-18th century house located on The Bank in Catterick. It is constructed of coursed rubble with a roof of both pantiles and stone slates. The left side has quoins. The house has two storeys and three bays. The window and door openings have wedge lintels with deep keystones. The third bay features a 20th-century part-glazed door with a three-pane overlight; the lintel above the door is grooved as if it were constructed with voussoirs. The windows are sash windows with thick glazing bars and flush wood architraves. A stone slate course runs along the eaves. The left side has a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping, and there are brick stacks at the end left and two to the right. It is likely that the house was originally one dwelling with number 13 nearby.
