Description
Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 (Princess Terrace) on North Road are mid-19th century buildings made of red brick with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. They stand three storeys tall. The end bay of No 1 projects forward and features a broad gable supported by kneelers. The other buildings have either flat-topped attic dormers flanked by ashlar parapets or steep-pitched gables with paired 2-centred sash windows. On the first floor, the windows alternate between tripled 2-centred arched sashes and paired 2-centred arched sashes. The ground floor windows are 3-light casements with flat lintels and moulded panels above. The double doors have diagonally planked panels and cusped 2-centred arched heads, with gabled ashlar portals on crocketed consoles, featuring shields in the tympanum and ribbon ornamentation on either side.
