Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres south west of White Oak Farmhouse, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared gritstone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The barn consists of five bays and has a rear outshut. Notable architectural details include quoins, a central cart entrance with a segmental keyed arch, and three pitching doors on the first floor with plain surrounds. The gables are adorned with bulbous kneelers and coping.
On the left side, there are central and flanking doors, with the left door leading into the rear outshut. The surrounds of these doors are long and short quoined, and there are four rows of scaffolding holes visible. Inside, the barn has a queen strut roof. An attached outbuilding at a right angle is noted but is not of special interest.
