Description
Tower Bridge over Ripley Beck is a bridge that may date back to the 17th century, with some rebuilding in the 19th century. It is constructed of gritstone and features a double-chamfered single segmental arch. The spandrels are made of large, well-cut blocks, while the parapet consists of smaller stones, with the coping made of large chamfered blocks connected by iron staples. Hollybank Lane, where the bridge is located, is believed to be part of a Roman route and is certainly an early road that connects Pateley Bridge and Boroughbridge.
