Description
Nos 13, 14, and 15 Sandgate are notable buildings with a rich history. No 15 was formerly known as Sandgate Hall and served as the headquarters of the Duke of Richmond in 1745. The exterior features scored stucco over stone and an old slate roof. There are three segmental-headed doorways with fanlights and modern doors. The ground floor has three double sash windows, with an additional three and a single sash window above, all set within plain stone architraves. Inside No 15, there is an early 18th-century panelled room that includes a moulded plaster cornice and an ornamented plaster ceiling featuring Jacobean-type strapwork, along with the initials FMD and the date 1647.
