Description

Nos 44 and 45 Roper Street, built in 1814, are notable examples of elaborate Georgian Gothic architecture. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring four pointed arched doorways adorned with intricate Decorated style blind fanlights and foliated panelled doors. There are three shop windows with four-centred heads, labels, and foliated spandrels, along with a cornice above the ground floor. The first floor includes five windows, three of which are blocked, set in moulded frames with labels, and is topped with another cornice. No 44 has two attic windows, while No 45 features castellated eaves.
